For My Mystics

Let’s dive into what lies beyond the physical plane.

Connection to Spirit

Wednesday, August 30th, 2023

I’ve had this connection to spirit for as long as I can remember but as a youth, I didn’t have a practice for grounding and protection that I found on my own. So out of fear, I locked my gift in a box and tucked it away. I grew up in a Hindu household where comforting practices, traditions and prayers were passed down but I didn’t feel like anyone could understand what it was that I was experiencing.

At a young age, I gained an angel who I was very close to; we were two peas in a pod, she was my better half. My spiritual connection intensified and I couldn’t make sense of what I was experiencing. When sharing my encounters with the people in my life, I feared looking and sounding “crazy.” I stopped talking about my experiences and wished for my encounters to just stop. And they did.

It wasn’t until the last 5 years that I gained the courage and strength to embrace it. Instead of fearing this gift, I found practices that helped me feel grounded and protected.

I am guided, I am protected, I am divine.

The Universe presents the path to help me actualize my vision. My angels are with me in every moment. I am connected to something greater; I too am powerful.

The affirmations above are a prayer. Even in the thick of a nightmare, I have recited those words and called my spirit back to the waking world. The coming weeks, I’ll share my personal spiritual practices. Stay tuned!

Dreams and Dream Interpretation

Wednesday, September 6th, 2023

Sap is short for Sapna which means dream. I don’t know if this name was divinely given to me or if it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy but it’s through my dreams where my connection is the deepest.

I have vivid dreams and they are cinematic! Back in college, I remember asking my psych professor, “what exactly are dreams?” I even wrote a paper on what dreams meant in different religions. I was trying to make sense of what was going on when I went to sleep.

I believe that when we dream, our subconscious comes out to play and communicates to us in the best way it knows how, through images. I also believe that when our physical bodies are resting, our spirit has the freedom to wander.

I can tell the difference between dreams where my mind is sending me a message and when my spirit wanders into other realms to play.

I keep a dream journal. I’ve dabbled with different ways to interpret my dreams. I’ve analyzed and decoded the symbolism, I’ve embodied the symbols and asked what message they’re sending me but my favorite is dream interpretation with Tarot cards.

Messages From Beyond

Have you ever felt like you were receiving signs but didn’t know how to best interpret it?

I was first introduced to tarot by a coach I started working with at the end of 2021. She had a very intuitive approach and would pull cards for me. I was intrigued! I would spend time after our sessions looking up each card she pulled to further investigate what it was trying to tell me. That holiday, I bought my first Tarot deck.

I wasn’t surrounded by peers who used tarot cards. In fact, it required work for me to undo the stigma I believed about them.

For me, tarot cards are a tool. My highest self and guides are able to communicate with me through tarot cards in a way I’m able to better understand. After a powerful dream or nightmare, I like pulling a 3-card dream interpretation spread diving into what feelings the dream stemmed from, what message it’s sending me and how to apply that to my waking life.
